Reasons and Ways to Pray

There’s never a reason NOT to pray.

There’s also never a place that you can’t pray.

Just like you can eat green eggs and ham in a box, with a fox, in a house, with a mouse, you can do the same with prayer – any time, anywhere!

Although there are always reasons and ways to pray, our prayer as the leadership of Awaken Church is to be a church of prayer. We want to stress the power and necessity of prayer by praying more often not only on our own, but together, with you! So, here are two new ways and reasons to pray coming soon to Awaken…

THE ARMY PRAYER WALL

We’ve been talking about deployment for a while now, but it is definitely here. In just a couple weeks, a handful of guys from Awaken will be heading out for a year in Afghanistan. If you or your spouse is deploying, we want to pray for you! It’s simple, we just need the following info:

Soldier’s Name

Soldier’s Date of Birth

Date of Deployment & Return

Mailing Address

Something he/she might like getting in the mail

Specific Prayer Requests

Here are a few ways to get us all of that info:

1) Grab an ARMY Prayer Slip at church, fill out that info, and hand it to a pastor or drop it in one of the boxes.

2) Email us that info at prayer@awakenchurch.org.

3) Leave that info as a comment on this blog.

SATURDAY PRAYER

Paul, writing to Timothy, said, “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people….” That’s what we want to do daily as individuals, but also on Saturdays as a church. We’ll gather before Saturday night service from 5:45-6:15pm in the back kids classroom for a time of prayer. One of us pastors will be there each week to lead the prayer time. We’ll spend time praying for God to move powerfully in our church, our city, and our generation. Will you join us?
