Making the decision to move to a bigger building was a quick, yet very prayerful decision. It’s been something we’ve been praying about for a few months now, but we’ve only seriously considered it and moved forward with it since Tuesday of last week. Even since we made the decision to go for it and announce it at yesterday’s service, I must admit, I doubted a bit. I thought maybe we were jumping the gun. Maybe we should stick it out a little more and see how long we could make our current setting work.
Sunday’s service confirmed that we were doing the right thing.
We set out the normal amount of chairs, then quickly realized we would need more. So, I went back for more…then I went back for more. Soon we had every chair we owned set out, plus a few of our old ones that we saved from before the flood.
Sunday was the biggest service in the history of Awaken Church! Unbelievable…and yet, very believable. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). People just kept coming…and coming…and coming! Counting the 37 kids in Kids Ministry, we had over 110 people in attendance! God is good, and He is moving in Clarksville!
And if all of that wasn’t cool enough, I got to pray with an 11-year old girl, named Heather, to receive Christ after service!
Here’s the video of me making the announcement. Enjoy.
